Sand Hill Clan D&D 5e

Welcome to Sand Hill Clan's D&D Campaign!

So, Role Playing. Yeah.
You’ve known for quite a while that your dear old dad is a massive nerd from ’way back. Well, yeah, I grew up playing D&D and Traveller, and a host of other games. Playing these games (when I could find people to play with) or just reading about them, painting miniatures, creating dungeons… these were some of the happy memories of my childhood.
I think I learned a lot, and had a lot of fun doing this. And I hope you will too.

With this first campaign, we’re going to be exploring the new-ish 5th edition of D&D. I’m very rusty, so will take some time to get back into the swing of things. Brigid will need some help to learn what to do and how. Together, this can be a really fun thing to do together.

This tool, Obsidian, will help us keep things organized and where we can find them without hunting through stacks of paper. I’m sure it will take a while to get used to the system and learn all it can do for us.

Our first tasks are to create characters for the first adventure, Horde of the Dragon Queen, set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. Players have knowledge of just about everything in the Sword Coast Aventurers Refence book, so reading that or flipping through it would be a good idea.

We’re going to need a play area. I highly suggest we use one of the big white folding tables, but that is going to require clearing a space in the living room, and you know what that entails. So let’s get to it.

You have your dice from our trip to the LGS (that’s “Local Game Shop”) and once we get your characters created, we’ll see about finding miniatures and showing you how to paint them up.

Let’s have fun!
